SPECIAL DESIGNS
Aside from standard on-engine exhaust bellows connectors and exhaust manifolds, Mark David Canada Inc. fabricates made-to-order expansion joints and metal hose assemblies. Typically, we supply these to marine and gen-set marketplaces.

MARINE MARKET

The illustration below shows a typical exhaust piping layout on an ocean-going size vessel. In addition to exhaust lines, we supply joints and hoses for fuel, oil, salt water, fresh water, steam and other piping.
Main stack expansion joints can be as large as this 54” dia. single bellows unit, which we supplied to a bulk carrier that services the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River.

This joint was supplied without the flow liner (slower flow exhaust).
This 24” dia. single expansion joint was supplied to the Canadian Coast Guard. It has special drilled stainless steel plate flanges. Bellows are made of T321 stainless steel, which is a typical sheet material for high temperature exhaust applications.

Expansion joints in open deck applications, where there is an exposure to salt water environment are typically supplied in T316/T316L material for improved corrosion resistance. That is also material of choice for ballast lines, where salt water is the flowing media.

Applications for oil, fuel or fresh water lines that are below deck may be furnished in base T304 SS material.
Metal braided hose connectors, such as the one shown here are used where small amounts of lateral motion or pump vibration need to be eliminated from the piping system.

Flanges may be to ANSI standard or any special drilling, such as the square flange supplied with this connector.
GEN-SET MARKET

The illustration below shows a typical exhaust piping layout in a diesel engine powered generating station.
We supply expansion joints for the exhaust piping to the silencer and beyond, to the outside stack. If the engines are of Alco, GE or EMD brands, we also offer on-engine exhaust systems.
The generating station shown here has a number of CAT engines in service. Mark David Canada Inc. supplies exhaust expansion joints, such as seen in this picture, above each engine.
Pictures below illustrate some of the CAT exhaust connectors we fabricated. Both examples shown here have (aside from ANSI drilled ends) special drilled round or square flanges.
