OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU, YOUR SAFETY
AND THE INTEGRITY OF YOUR SYSTEM BEGINS HERE

Once your process conditions and equipment specifications have been established, our design and application engineers will work with you to optimize a solution for your expansion joint, and flexible hose requirements. MDC’s engineers use the latest software, based on EMJA (Expansion Joint Manufacturers Association) to ensure the suitability of the chosen expansion joint design with your system’s operating conditions.

Our commitment to quality starts at the quotation stage. This is the foundation on which the end product is built. Utilizing state of the art equipment and software including Finite Element Analysis and Solid Modeling Technology, we can specify and layout the correct joint for any application. We analyze effects on pipe from restraint loading and develop the most cost effective and thoroughly tested designs in the industry.

All this can only be possible if the proper input parameters are communicated to MDC in order to design the best and safest joint or hose assembly possible. As a system designer, you are responsible to provide us with all information that may have an effect on your system’s safety and performance. The data sheets included here cover most of those conditions, but only you are aware of the unexpected and intermittent events, which may develop during the life of your system.

They include, but are not limited to:
• shock pressure
• pulsating pressure
• temperature variations outside of normal operating conditions
• system failure in cold climates resulting in unforeseen joint extension
• permanent or temporary presence of abrasive media
• variations in velocity beyond normal operating conditions
• corrosive cleaning agents not considered as media at design stage
• presence of external corrosive agents
• changes in mechanical loads on piping
